My first interest in photography started as a child when I borrowed my mother's camera, a Kodak Brownie, which I promptly turned towards friends. At 16 I was into my 3rd camera, a small Kodak Pocket 40. It was conveniently suited to my active lifestyle photographing people in the great outdoors while hiking, bicycle touring and camping.

A few years later, I started traveling and tracing my family tree. My camera gear accompanied me when meeting relatives to record precious old family photos and historic items using macro photography. During this period I occasionally drafted friends to pose for portraits and also loved to shoot candids at family gatherings.

Over time my need for photographic expression strengthened and I focused my attention on photographing the rich colors of nature and the grand beauty of landscapes. I showed and sold my work at art fairs, exhibitions and participated in photography associations. I made the switch from a Nikon 35mm film camera to Nikon Digital cameras and the digital darkroom, Photoshop. The journey into nature and landscapes lasted for 8 years and then it was time to put people back in the picture.

Since 2007, I've been using photography to reveal the subtle nuances of a person's character and beauty in portraits. Then in 2013 I started to focus more on fine art nudes, often in natural settings.
